Welded steel pipe is made by rolling of a steel coil to the required gauge thickness, a manufacturing procedure that leaves a seam on the pipe's body. According to the welding method, welded steel pipe can be divided into electric resistance welded pipe (ERW pipe), spiral submerged arc-welding pipe (SSAW pipe), and longitudinal submerged arc-welding pipe (LSAW pipe). These three types of welded steel pipe are manufactured in significantly different ways.
Because of the welding method, welded steel pipe was less strong than seamless steel pipe. Thus welded steel pipe often used in low pressure application. But welded steel pipes are widely used in major pipeline projects, and they can also be used a lot water supply engineering, petrochemical industry, chemical industry, electric power industry, agricultural irrigation and urban construction, liquid transportation, (such as water supply and drainage), gas transportation ( such as gas, steam, liquefied petroleum gas etc).
