Thailand’s anti-dumping duty on stainless steel from China

Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Plates, Sheets and Strips Historical Background:As early as August 17, 2012, Thailand had already started an anti-dumping investigation on cold rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips originating from China, and made a positive final determination on December 12 of the same year, deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on the relevant products from China for a period of five years. Sunset review: on December 6, 2018, Thailand again initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation against China’s cold-rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips. on December 3, 2019, the Thai officials issued a positive final ruling on the case, announcing that anti-dumping duties would continue to be levied on China’s products in question from December 4, 2019, with a duty rate ranging from 8.50% to 33.32%, valid for a period of five years. The validity period is also five years. Second review: on November 20, 2024, the Department of International Trade Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand issued a notification that it would initiate a second anti-dumping sunset review proceeding on cold-rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips from China. During this period, the anti-dumping duties on the commodities in question will be collected in the form of deposits for a period not exceeding one year.
