Monel R-405 is known for its excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. It is corrosion resistant to seawater, high temperature steam, and salt and corrosive solutions. In fast-flowing salt or seawater, as well as most fresh waters, Monel R-405 has a low corrosion rate and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Monel R-405 has a higher sulfur content, which gives it better process-ability. It can be joined by standard soldering, brazing and soft brazing techniques.
