In seawater environments, Monel K500 resists pitting and crevice corrosion caused by chlorides in seawater with very low corrosion rates.
In acidic media, Monel K500 performs well, especially in non-oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid with significant corrosion resistance.
Monel K500 also has very low hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity and stable resistance to hydrogen corrosion at high temperatures and pressures.
