Low carbon steel plate refers to those the carbon content among 0.04–0.3% which is a comparative low standard. Low carbon steel plate has lower strength relative to higher carbon content steel plate. But low carbon steel plates have excellent machinability and weldability. Mild steel plate is a typically low carbon steel plate. Besides, ASTM A36, A572 Grades 42 & 50 and A830-1020 are the common low carbon steel grades, too.
