The corrosion resistance of Hastelloy B alloy is one of its most remarkable features. It is particularly suitable for use in reducing environments, such as hydrochloric acid solutions at various temperatures and concentrations. It also has good corrosion resistance in medium concentrations of sulfuric acid solutions (or with some amount of chloride ions), and can also be used in acetic and phosphoric acid environments. The alloy’s corrosion resistance stems from its high nickel and molybdenum content, as well as its well-designed chemical composition and processing.
The metallographic structure of Hastelloy B helps the alloy maintain stable properties at high temperatures and in corrosive environments.
